Cirque du Soleil is returning to Barcelona in January 2012 with their Corteo show. All the acrobatics, the elegance and colours that characterise Cirque du Soleil will feature once again in this production that has entertained crowds in 35 cities across seven countries and has been acclaimed by critics, as well as by the more than six million spectators that have seen the show.

Corteo, which means “cortege” in Italian, tells the story of a clown that pictures the celebration of his own funeral as if it were a joyous procession in a mysterious place between heaven and earth. It is a story full of fantasy and overflowing with imagination that shows the more human side of clowns.

Corteo, in a carnival and mysterious atmosphere, focuses on the body language, humour, the juggling acts, contortionism and acrobatics.

The show, created and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, consists of twenty spectacular and magical circus acts characterising Cirque du Soleil. The music, by turns lyrical and playful, is a fundamental part of this charming production that you can’t miss out on during your stay in Barcelona.

Corteo will be set up on the Forum Park yacht marina in Barcelona, in a huge big top. The show will be in the city on the 20th of January on the 11th of March 2012. Tickets are already on sale which you can buy at the official Cirque du Soleil website and prices range from 33.50 euro to 203 euro. Let the show begin!
